Adrenal Disorders

Orange colored endocrine glands that are found on the tops of both kidneys. Each gland is made up of the Medulla and the Cortex. The Medulla produces epinephrine and norepinephrine (adrenaline). The Adrenal Cortex produces other hormones necessary for fluid and electrolyte (salt) balance in the body.

  • Make sure you are taking supplements for overall good health. If you are not taking these basic supplements, we recommend Enfuz from Vitabase. When you take a small packet of pills each day, you get all the basic nutrition you need. Each packet contains a multi-vitamin, CoQ10 (for heart health), Omega 3, Vitamin D-3, a probiotic, and a powerful set of antioxidants to help your body fight off disease.
  • Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) is a hormone that the pituitary gland releases when it gets strained. This very possibly will progress into the occurrence of biochemical events which can release substances that have a tendency to raise blood pressure. Because of the very existence of this hormone, sodium return and potassium excretion can develop. Consequently, stress will not only challenge the adrenal glands but could also allow the body to retain water, a potential cause of hypertension.
  • Be sure to follow your physician's guidance and take your medicine as prescribed. It is important that you follow a sensible diet. Adding supplements would be beneficial.
  • Distress or stress that never gets alleviated is a very important reason why people experience "adrenal burnout" with all of its indications which can consist of immune deficiency and degenerative diseases.
  • Eliminating too much steroid will require monitoring of high blood sugar while adhering to a good diet and medication program, replenishing potassium, controlling high blood pressure, aggressive treatment of infections, balancing calcium intake, and adjusting how much steroid you take at times when you may be ill, just had surgery, or were injured.

  • Avoid stress this can be damaging to the adrenal gland.
  • Eat foods that contain germanium - garlic, onions, shiitake mushrooms, and pearl barley.
  • Exercise regularly to reduce the stress and support the adrenal glands.
  • Foods that are stressful to the adrenal gland are fats, fried food, ham, pork, highly processed foods, red meats, sodas, sugar, and white flour.
  • Highly toxic substances to the adrenal gland are alcohol, caffeine and tobacco.
  • Include in your weekly diet salmon, tuna or other deep water fish at least 3 times a week.
  • Make Sure your daily intake of fresh fruit and vegetables is increased especially the green leafy ones.
