Cataracts


About
A clouding or darkening of the lens of the eye. A cataract, when untreated, permanently blurs vision. Cataracts occur naturally in the elderly, but exposure to too many ultraviolet rays can cause them in anyone. It is important to wear sunglasses that provide UV protection in bright sunlight.


Notes

Advice
  • Consume steam-distilled water. Stay away from any water that has been contaminated with fluoride or chlorine. Well water should be avoided.
  • Do not use antihistamines.
  • Eat more leafy green vegetables (like collard greens, kale, mustard greens, spinach, and turnip greens), legumes, yellow vegetables, berries (blueberries, blackberries, and cherries), and other raw fruits and vegetables. Eat a lot of foods that provide vitamins E and C.
  • Stay away from saturated fats, other fats and oils, and dairy products. Cold-pressed vegetable oils are recommended.
  • Stay out of direct sunlight. Take the necessary measures to protect your eyes - sunglasses, wide-brimmed hats, etc.
