Vaginitis

About
Abnormal discharge, burning, or itching may indicate the presence of Vaginitis. This disorder may be caused by oral contraceptives, poor hygiene, pregnancy, diabetes, antibiotics, or other factors.

Notes
  • Make sure you are taking supplements for overall good health. If you are not taking these basic supplements, we recommend Enfuz from Vitabase. When you take a small packet of pills each day, you get all the basic nutrition you need. Each packet contains a multi-vitamin, CoQ10 (for heart health), Omega 3, Vitamin D-3, a probiotic, and a powerful set of antioxidants to help your body fight off disease.
  • Natural progesterone cream can help with atrophic vaginitis.
  • Prescription estrogen ointments are available to help with atrophic vaginitis. Vitamin B6 should be used alongside these ointments.

Advice
  • A vitamin E capsule can be used to alleviated itching. After opening it, place the contents directly on the infected area.
  • Consume only steam-distilled water.
  • Do not take iron supplements while inflammation is still present.
  • Douches that smell sweet should be avoided. Rotate the following douches: a douche of 1 quart of warm water with 2 garlic capsules or 1 cup of fresh garlic juice and a douche of 1 quart of warm water or 1 cup of plain yogurt mixed with 2 acidophilus capsules. These will help combat infection (garlic) and provide the proper balance of acids and bacteria (acidophilus).
  • Get a regular dose of fiber every day. Oat bran is recommended.
  • It is important to stay clean and dry. Cotton underwear is recommended. Stay away from synthetic fabrics and tight clothing. After swimming, put on dry clothes as soon as you can.
  • Plain yogurt with live cultures may combat infection and ease inflammation. You can eat it or place it directly on the infected area. Acidophilus, millet, and brown rice should be included in your diet.
  • Stay away from fruit, sugar, yeast, aged cheeses, alcohol, soy sauce, ham, nut butters, chocolate, fermented foods, dried fruits, barley, wheat, oats, rye, honey, sprouts, vinegar, pickles, and raw mushrooms. Until the inflammation gets better, avoid eating grapefruits, pineapples, limes, oranges, lemons, tomatoes, and other acidic or citrus fruits.
  • Take an apple cider vinegar bath (3 cups in your bath water) for twenty minutes.
  • Wait until your infection clears before using corticosteroids or oral contraceptives.
